Carter Newell Lawyers begins the new financial year on a high with the addition of three new partners, Glenn Biggs, Stephen Humphreys and Jonathan Cheyne, bringing the total Partnership to twelve. Dr Peter Ellender, CEO, said the senior promotions reflect the strong growth and successful planning of the firm’s key areas with specialist practitioners elevated to Partner within the Insurance, Commercial Dispute Resolution and Corporate & Commercial teams.
Glenn Biggs has extensive experience in insurance litigation with a special interest in aviation, transport and personal and products liability having conducted claims and recoveries nationally and throughout Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and the United Kingdom.
Stephen Humphreys specialises in dispute resolution focusing on insolvency with specialist expertise in providing risk management and litigation avoidance advice to corporate clients and their boards.
Jonathan Cheyne’s main areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, capital raisings and company floats, corporate governance and other aspects of corporate and commercial law. He has worked on a number of large and complex corporate transactions including several billion dollar acquisitions and capital raisings.
In addition, Clayton Payne has been elevated to Senior Associate. Clayton is an experienced workplace relations practitioner advising clients on all aspects of employment relations and implications of legislation.
