Wildlife strikes with aircraft - Brisbane

Sep 2015 |

Wildlife strikes with aircraft flying in and around airport airspace are an increasing concern and remarkably common despite technology advances in this field over the last decade. It is a risk that concerns a broad spectrum of the aviation community from the airline, air traffic control, councils, airport operators, and surrounding residential or industrial landholders.  But what is the real risk of wildlife strike, and how is this problem approached from an environmental, risk management and legal perspective?

Glenn Biggs, Partner, takes great pleasure in partnering with the Managing Director of Avisure, Phil Shaw, to provide an in depth analysis of this issue. Avisure, a Queensland based company, is a world leader in providing wildlife strike risk management services to airports and aviation industry stakeholders across the globe.

The seminar will cover:

  • the changing paradigm in wildlife strike management;
  • its implications for technical requirements;
  • training and lines of responsibility;
  • legal risk management when a strike occurs; and
  • the strategies available for an airport in lieu of or when litigation ensues.
