Kelly is a leading expert in planning and environment law, with over 20 years experience assisting the property, infrastructure, energy and resource sectors to navigate the complex and ever-changing regulatory framework to facilitate the timely delivery of projects.   

Her experience includes negotiating with all levels of government to facilitate development and advising on project approvals including development and environmental approvals, infrastructure agreements, environmental offsets, vegetation clearing, contaminated land and compulsory acquisition of land.   

Whilst her primary focus is to assist clients in avoiding costly and time consuming litigation, Kelly is experienced in running planning and environment court appeals and applications. She also regularly advises clients on environmental risk and incident management, assists in responding to enforcement action and is experienced in defending prosecutions relating to development and environmental offences.  

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Environmental Science and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning. In 2019 Kelly was the recipient of the Griffith University MBA Scholarship for Women, and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration majoring in Public Policy. In addition to her career in private legal practice, Kelly has held a number of in-house project management and delivery roles in the property and resource sectors and has practised as a town planner.

She has been named in Best Lawyers Australia® in the field of Land Use and Zoning Law and Natural Resources Law, and has also been recognised as a Leading Planning and Development Lawyer and Leading Environment and Heritage Lawyer by the Doyle's Guide

A regular contributor to the industry, Kelly is an elected member appointed to the Queensland Environmental Law Association (QELA) Management Committee. Kelly holds the position of current Vice President (2021), in addition to being co-chair of the Legislative Review Sub-Committee.
