The Position

 

Carter Newell has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Commercial Property team. In this full-time role, you will provide the full suite of secretarial services to our high performing team, supporting a Partner, Special Counsel and Solicitor. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with clients;
  • Matter and document management including preparing and formatting a range of documents and correspondence;
  • Assisting with settlements – PEXA and paper;
  • Conducting title and statutory searches;
  • Managing monthly billing on Expert;
  • Conflict searches;
  • Diary management, travel arrangements and expense reconciliation; and
  • Associated administrative support to fee earners in the practice group.

 

All secretarial roles are supported by an internal WP resource and filing clerks.

 

Essential Experience and Criteria

 

You will have 5+ years relevant experience as a property/commercial legal secretary and have a flexible and positive disposition. Your well-developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills will allow you to prioritise effectively and proactively support the team.
