Noted, named and third party insureds

Oct 2018 |

Partner Glenn Biggs and Senior Associate Shannon O'Hara will explore Noted, Named and Third Party Insureds.

Having an ‘insured’ status on a policy has different meanings. In aviation, guidance often comes in the insured’s nature of interest in a hull, ranging from active terms like ‘operator’, ‘owner’, ‘vendor’, or ‘first loss payee’, to the more homogenised insurance language such as ‘insured’, ‘additional insured’ and ‘FTRR&I’.

In this final session for 2018, we explore these often times confusing terms by considering what these categories of insured mean, how they are significant and what rights and entitlements they have relative to other additional or third party entities.
