QLS: Early Career Lawyers Conference - Brisbane

Jul 2014 |

As part of the Queensland Law Society's Early Career Lawyers Conference, Nola Pearce, Special Counsel will be joined by other panelists for an interactive session that will examine the fundamental obligations that practitioners owe to the administration of justice and to clients, including:

  • honesty
  • integrity
  • competence
  • independence.

Putting your best foot forward: a refresher of our professional obligations will encompass case studies to demonstrate the typical situations where ethical issues arise in practice and provide attendees with assistance on how to best deal with them and avoid compromising your reputation.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit questions with respect to the issues to be examined ahead of time for the panel to consider during the session.

Whether from a small, medium or large firm, the Early Career Lawyers Conference is specifically designed to provide all junior practitioners with practical advice and tips in:

  • adding value to your firm in your early years in the profession
  • promoting your brand and managing your own career
  • improving your drafting, research and time management skills
  • coping in a highly stressful environment
  • managing frequent issues faced by early career lawyers.
