A delicious success at Carter Newell's 13th Annual Bake Off

The competition was fierce during Carter Newell’s 13th annual bake off.

Taking place on Monday 17 September 2018, the call went out for staff to show off their baking skills for a chance to be awarded the ‘best savoury dish’, the ‘best sweet dish’, and overall winner of the ‘Stand Out Stirrer’. The ‘best team’ category was once again highly sought after, awarded for both quantity and quality of entries.

The esteemed judging panel consisted of last year’s overall winner Partner Luke Preston, Filing Clerk Michael Peel and Chief Financial Officer Daren White.

After tasting a variety of delightful dishes, best savoury dish went to Knowledge Manager Cameron Rodgers for Nan’s Sausage rolls with cracked pepper and tomato relish and the best sweet dish went to secretary Kellie Fowler for her Lemon Syrup Tea Cake.

The Firm’s Construction & Engineering team worked hard to take out the ‘best team’ entry and the overall winner was awarded to Senior Associate Leah Watt for her amazing lemon drizzle cake.

The annual bake off competition continues to be a popular day in the firm’s Workplace Giving calendar where staff donated money in order to sample the scrumptious food. This year Carter Newell is delighted to raise $1,000 for their staff nominated local charity - Ronald McDonald House.

Ronald McDonald House helps families of seriously ill children, keeping families together and close as they care for their children’s needs.
