Carter Newell appoints two partners and elevates three

Joining the partnership are Mark Kenney (Construction & Engineering) and Ben Hall (Insurance – Melbourne).

Carter Newell is also pleased to announce the elevations of Lara Radik (Workplace Advisory) to Special Counsel, Amy Heselwood (Litigation & Dispute Resolution) to Senior Associate and Tom Pepper (Insurance) to Associate.

“This is a really exciting time for the firm”, Senior Partner Paul Hopkins said.

“The elevation of these five talented lawyers highlights our commitment to promote from within and to continue to develop our eastern seaboard offices. These elevations strengthen our offering to provide the highest level of service and specialist knowledge to our clients.”

With particular expertise in large scale infrastructure projects, Mark Kenney provides specialist advice in front-end construction projects including contract negotiation. He works across a wide range of industries and sectors.

“Our Construction & Engineering practice is one of the largest along the Eastern seaboard.  As a specialist practice, we continue to be appointed on very significant front-end construction work and back-end large scale litigation across the mining, infrastructure and construction sectors”, Paul said.

Growing Carter Newell’s Eastern seaboard offering has been a key strategic driver resulting in the elevation of insurance specialist Ben Hall to partner.  Ben will lead the firm’s growing Melbourne office, bringing a wealth of experience across all aspects of our insurance practice.

Specialising in workplace and industrial relations and workplace health and safety, Lara Radik advises across a wide range of industries and clients

Amy Heselwood acts for a variety of public and private sector clients, often involved in complex multi-party disputes. As an experienced litigator she acts in matters before the Federal and Supreme Courts and as well as acting in arbitrations and adjudications.

Tom Pepper works in Carter Newell’s Financial Lines practice focusing on professional indemnity, D&O and management liability insurance, defending both litigated and unlitigated claims against a range of professionals.

Carter Newell was recently awarded the national State / Regional Firm of the Year award at the Australasian Law Awards, and 14 of its specialist lawyers were named Best Lawyers in Australia.
