Another scrumptious success at Carter Newell’s 14th Annual Bake Off

Carter Newell’s 14th annual bake off was another year of intense competition which took place on Monday 28 October 2019.

The call went out for team members to demonstrate just how good their baking skills were for a chance to be awarded the ‘best savoury dish’, the ‘best sweet dish’, and overall winner of the ‘Stand Out Stirrer’. The ‘best team’ category was as usual, a highly competitive category which is awarded to the best team for both quantity and quality of entries.

The esteemed judging panel included last year’s bake off winner Leah Watt, RACQ, Carter Newell’s former CEO Dr Peter Ellender and regular bake off attendee, Filing Clerk Michael Peel.

It was certainly a tough decision but after tasting a selection of wonderful dishes, best savoury dish went to secretary Kellie Fowler for gorgonzola and red onion jam sausage rolls and the best sweet dish went to secretary Chelsea Ninnies for her lemon and blueberry crumble slice.

The firm’s Commercial Property team took out the award for ‘best team’ entry and the overall winner was awarded to Senior Associate Amy Heselwood for her incredible carrot cake which even took the form of an actual carrot!

The annual bake off competition continues to be a much anticipated day in the firm’s Workplace Giving calendar where staff donate at the door to sample the delectable food on offer.

Carter Newell is proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities in 2019.
