Carter Newell congratulates partner Matt Couper who has again been recognised as a leading Business & Commercial Lawyer in Doyle's Guide 2020.

This is the third year in a row Matt has received this accolade.

Leading Carter Newell's Corporate practice, Matt has more than 15 years experience advising public and private companies and government entities in relation to mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures, structuring, due diligence and general corporate and business issues.

Matt and his team have most recently acted for:

  • the founders of iconic Brisbane based Frankie4 footwear in relation to an investment by Odyssey Private Equity Partners;
  • the shareholders of the Intersystems Group, an Australia based global leader in airport digital technologies, by Tokyo stock exchange listed Daifuku Co. Ltd;
  • the owners of a portfolio of childcare centres sold to ASX listed Think Childcare Limited; and
  • alternative asset manager M.H. Carnegie & Co on a number of strategic investments, divestments and general commercial matters for portfolio entities.

Carter Newell's Corporate team has also been recognised as a leading Corporate Law Firm.

The Corporate team draws on a depth of experience and a commitment to understanding clients' businesses to deliver clear and commercially focussed legal advice. The team's approach is to provide a service which adds value and delivers effective legal and commercial solutions to clients.

The 2020 Doyle's Guide listing of leading Commercial Lawyers details individuals practising within the Queensland legal market whose practice is often broader than the traditional corporate practice areas of M&A and Capital Markets and therefore covers the broader range of commercial and business matters. Further information can be found at Doyle’s Guide.
