We have strict customer service procedures to provide exceptional customer service. This system ensures that immediately on receiving instructions, the matter is assigned to the most appropriately skilled lawyer within the firm to protect the client's interests.

We seek feedback at every opportunity. If our processes identify areas for possible improvement, they are reported through our management system. This system ensures we engender a philosophy of continuous improvement.

We recognise that organisations with strong ESG practices and who act in a responsible way are likely to perform better across all facets of business and are therefore better placed to manage risks. We are currently working through our ESG policy with the goal of having it measured and certified through obtaining a rating addressing the UN guiding principles (UN Global Compact) which covers, environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Carter Newell is certified under the international standard ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems (ISO 9001).

The primary focus of our Quality Management System, which conforms to ISO 9001, is to meet client requirements and strive to exceed client expectations. We are committed to continual improvement in our systems and processes. Our certification provides interested parties with an assurance that our legal services are of the highest standard.

Every year, as part of our certification, our system and processes are independently audited to ensure our legal services continue to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001.

Information Security

Carter Newell is certified under the international standard ISO 27001:2013 Information security management systems (ISO 27001).

ISO 27001 is recognised globally as the highest level of security-related accreditation that a business can attain, and the most widely adopted information security standard in the world.

Our Information Security Management System, which conforms to ISO 27001, protects our information assets and systems to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information used by Carter Newell in the provision of legal services to our clients.  This certification proves Carter Newell's commitment to information security at every level and geographical location of the firm.

Every year, as part of our certification, our Information Security Management System is independently audited to ensure we continue to comply with the requirements of ISO 27001.

Carter Newell’s duty to comply with the ISO 27001 Information Security standard and ISO 9001 Quality Management standard, demonstrates that our management systems are comprehensive, ensuring international best practices, and providing the highest level of service to our clients.

Client audits - File reviews

Clients are encouraged to regularly provide audit-style feedback on specific file performance. This process provides benchmark-style data which enables us to refine processes, identify critical areas requiring attention and better understand our clients' business drivers.  Thorough analysis and prompt feedback is actioned on receipt.

In addition, we undertake an independent file review process as part of our internal quality assessment.
