Allison is a Special Counsel in the Carter Newell Insurance team and is dual qualified in English and Australian jurisdictions. She has practised within Defendant Insurance litigation for the whole of her legal career and has over 10 years' experience in the sector.
Throughout her career Allison has acted for large insurers and self insured companies. Her extensive experience spans all areas of industry including resources, energy, construction, banking, manufacturing, transport, hospitality and government. She has a particular interest in oil, gas and mining related injury claims, in particular complex multi-party contractual claims and is routinely instructed in large loss and catastrophic cases.
Allison also engages in all forms of occupational and environmental disease litigation, in particular claims involving asbestos related conditions, asthma, cancers, carbon monoxide exposure, back injuries, upper limb disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome, hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), chemical exposure (COSHH claims), noise induced hearing loss (NIHL), dermatitis and food poisoning.
Prior to joining Carter Newell Allison spent time advising Australia's leading employers on all issues relating to the prevention of work-related injury, incident response, related investigations and prosecutions by statutory authorities. Allison is an ICAM Lead Investigator accredited in the investigation of WHS incidents.
Allison is described as demonstrating ‘great skills’ and being ‘committed’ with her clients. She pays attention to detail and is a good listener’. She is a regular contributor to both internal and external publications and presents at seminars to industry groups including insurers, brokers and loss adjusters.
