About Mark

Mark is a specialist construction Partner with more than 20 years of experience at advising clients on contract negotiation and drafting relevant to the construction, infrastructure and resources sectors.

With a proactive approach, Mark regularly works with clients at the outset of a project – from the tendering and negotiation phases, through to early works and MOUs, and up to execution of the agreed contract.

He is also experienced advising clients on post contract matters, including subcontract and consultancy arrangements, ongoing contract management, procurement and the engagement of service providers. He advises on the development of master services or standing order arrangements, right through to re-negotiation and renewal of existing term contracts.

With an interest in large scale infrastructure projects, Mark seeks out specially tailored or innovative contracting arrangements including early contractor involvement, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM), consolidation agreements, joint ventures and alliances.

Mark has acted for principals and contractors along with subcontractors, trade contractors, architects, consultants, suppliers as well as working in-house. He understands the commercial needs from each perspective and strives to ensure that contracts achieve balanced and workable outcomes for clients.

Contributing to the construction industry, Mark was a member of the Queensland Law Society Construction and Infrastructure Committee for more than a decade and regularly contributes his knowledge to industry through publications and speaking engagements.
