About Milton
Milton Latta is a Partner at Carter Newell with more than 15 years' experience advising and representing insurers and corporate insureds in relation to injury and property damage claims.
While Milton practises across the full spectrum of injury and property claims, he has a particular interest in construction and contractor claims, mining claims, work-related claims, contractual indemnity disputes, product liability claims and hotel and shopping centre claims.
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Milton brings a unique technical perspective to legal matters. His engineering background provides a particular advantage when dealing with complex factual and technical issues, enabling him to quickly understand the underlying engineering, construction, manufacturing, and/or operational aspects of a dispute. This combination of legal and engineering expertise allows him to deliver practical, commercially focused advice in technically challenging matters.
Milton is also recognised for his strategic approach to dispute resolution and his commitment to achieving efficient and commercially sensible outcomes for clients. He regularly acts for insurers and corporate insureds across a broad range of industries, providing clear advice and strong representation throughout the claims process.
Milton is a member of the Queensland Association of Fire Investigators and has specialist expertise in this area.
