Sam Cooper

Sam specialises in insurance law and dispute resolution for domestic and international insurers, with a particular focus on public liability, property damage and workplace prosecutions across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Sam acts for blue-chip and international insurers, insurance brokers, and private clients across pre-litigated and litigated claims. His practice encompasses personal injury, property damage, recovery claims and general commercial insurance matters, with a particular focus on the agriculture industry. Sam places strong emphasis on early and proactive investigation, ensuring clients have the information they need to make informed decisions at every stage of a claim.

His experience includes acting in complex multi-party liability disputes, acting for national retailers, commercial property owners and private clients including those facing workplace prosecution following a farming fatality as well as in claims arising from occupational exposure to silica dust. He also regularly advises on indemnity and coverage issues arising from liability policy wordings in high-value matters, including where damages sought exceed $5 million. 

Sam has appeared and acted in compulsory conferences, mediations and trials across Queensland and New South Wales.
