The Team & Position

We are currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Construction & Engineering team. Working closely with Partners and senior team members, matters will incorporate large-scale disputes including contract claims involving issues such as defective work, trade practices, delay costs, variations, and liquidated damages.

With the team of 17 lawyers specialising in front-end, back-end and insurance matters, our Construction & Engineering team acts for public and significant private companies in the mining, engineering, construction, and property industries, including developers, main contractors, principals, sub-contractors, and construction insurers. With a strong national reputation, the team is regarded as one of the most respected legal practices dealing with construction and engineering issues.

The team’s approach to disputes is to provide a timely, efficient, and economic resolution of disputes.

Our range of services include:

  • Construction dispute resolution;
  • Security of payment adjudication disputes;
  • Litigation and arbitration including large-scale disputes;
  • Time-related claims (prolongation, disruption, acceleration and liquidated damages);
  • Variations;
  • Defective work claims; and
  • Design and consultant liability claims.

Essential Experience and Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will have 5 years + post-admission experience in construction dispute resolution, with experience working on security of payment adjudication matters. You will have excellent analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. You are passionate about building strong client relationships and providing high quality service and advice.
