Corporate write downs: time for reform to the dividend rules?

As the economic downturn takes hold of corporate Australia, directors of top Australian companies are once again mooting the need for reforms to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) to overhaul the rules governing dividends to shareholders. Could these rules be about to change?
